Lizzy was beyond incredible on Repaid. Goosebump inducing and wildly standing ovation worthy (and this is coming from a sitter)!! Thanks for the great show!

Lizzy blew the roof off at “The Trap!” What a talent!!

Agreed.

I’m a sitter, but leapt to my feet when she hit those high notes.

You made our engagement at the NY show so special. Thanks for all the songs about loving, drowning, and doing both.

I am very firmly a "Stander," and my contention is that most people in the audience want to stand, but they think it's disrespectful or what the band wants. People are reluctant to stand because they don't want to do the wrong thing and block someone's view.

Surely there are some folks who would prefer to sit--and they can make that choice--but it's a rock show! The default should be to get up and move around.

Now you’ve paid your debt to society in both Multnomah Co. AND Clackamas Co. Make sure you hit up Washington Co. Library to round it out.

Was a Shebanger at the “Trap” (was right in the center for the preshow in the blue 2008 tour shirt). I was tempted to ask how your voice was doing but didn’t want to jinx it! Thank you for the new ringtone ;)

Btw in case you need a record, you played Rox in the Box and Clementine for the VIP at “the Trap.” You also played an epic O Valencia ringtone as part of the q&a

I’m definitely in team stand and was frustrated by the crowd at ‘The Trap’ - it’s great to hear that you enjoyed the crowd and the show regardless! I just kept thinking about your commentary on the ‘footloose.’ moment on We All Raise Our Voices to the Air and waiting for the footloose moment to happen (and free “the town from the shackles of conservatism”)! Couldn’t resist standing for a few songs regardless of my fellow show goers’ views.

That aside it was an incredible show and Lizzy deserved every bit of that ovation!

Thanks for a great performance and for closing with Sons and Daughters. It’s a song that reminds me of my grandparents and their huge family and it was wonderful to sing along (horribly off key) at the top of my lungs.

Fifth Decemberists show and already can’t wait til the next one!

“Waiting in the garbage-stink of the alley” for your bus sounds like a Decemberists song lyric. 🙂

Drove down from Pittsburgh to the show at The Trap and, holy crap, what an awesome set! Really enjoying the tour diary, also. Thanks, Colin!

Seeing you at "The Trap" was my 12 year old's first rock show and we both had a great time. I definitely prefer standing, but fortunately got to stand next to the stage for the encore at least! My daughter especially loved Jenny and Lizzie's performances. My eyes got a little wet reading about Lizzie bursting into tears, she earned that standing ovation! It was tempting to follow you guys up to Philadelphia, but I think we'll wait and hopefully catch you on the next tour. Good luck on the last two shows!

Really looking forward to your show in Nashville tonight! My wife and I drove all the way from San Marcos, TX for this!

I wish more venue's were set up to accommodate both standers and sitters...and dancers.... I used to be a stander but now my feet hurt all the time. My partner stands at work 8 hours a day and wants to sit in the seats we paid for. We stand for oncores!

Thoroughly enjoyed the show at The Trap- it was my first time there too. As someone used to Merriweather, I was also thrown off by the unwillingness to stand- but it DID lead to the lovely (and well deserved!) standing ovation for Lizzy. Have a fun rest of the tour!

New York's alright, if you like saxophones.

Ahem. Will you (could you) do something in tribute to the theatre in Nashville? Maybe dust off "If I Could Only Win Your Love" or maybe something by one of those Williams boys, I -IV? Or Dolly or anything at all, pre show or main? Please? :)

It's not theater but I'm hoping for Jolene. 🙃

I was at the Vienna show at the Wolf Trap - had such a great time! I just moved here from Mississippi, where obviously there weren't many opportunities to see the Decemberists!! ha! was so glad to finally see a show after about 15 years as a fan.

The Philly show was awesome! At the end of Shiny when you sang “scratch my name on your arm with a fountain pen, this means you really love me” I was elated! Such an enchanting moment for me. Having just discovered the smiths this year that song had been one of my favorites. And It always reminded me of the transporting feeling I get listening to your songs. So thanks for that and for a wonderful show.
