Drawing live with Wendy Mac. Then rewatching another episode of Lost with my daughter while we eat dinner. Then relaxing with my kittens and doing word puzzles. Maybe drawing some more. I will check results before going to bed if I feel brave.
There's always the option of helping. Phone banking to get out the vote today or help with ballot curing, which can be done even after today. Throw some money to buy pizzas for people standing in voting lines. I follow Greg Pak, artist and activist, on Bluesky and he's a great nexus for this stuff. Stay off the toxic social media like threads and follow positve people doing good! Check Greg's stuff here:
I’ll be taking hungry musicians to Bunk for their Thanksgiving sandwich, a perfect conglomerate of all things turkey day between two slices of bread. Needs to be ordered hot. With a side of gravy if that’s your choosing. Lots of bands playing tonight. My work gives us today off which is lovely. Let’s hope for a better tomorrow. 💙
No live TV, only music + no-ad streaming - maybe a couple of Benadryl’s once I log off work. My sister took the opposite approach and is working at a polling site all day.
Utah has default mail voting, so I forgot that polling locations exist. I tried to go to the library this morning for a “chill distraction” only to find myself square in the mayhem of a polling location. Oops. And apparently the poll workers haven’t been enforcing electioneering laws today, so the line was full of obnoxious red hats - TIL they come in toddler sizes.
Your words always inspire me and make me happy. But I teach American Government to a bunch of conservative high school students. What do I say to them? My first inclination is to call in sick, but I can’t hide from this, right? Maybe I’ll just play your music all day!
I think I’m going to finally finish cleaning my office/artist studio while playing The Harrowed and the Haunted on a loop. Oh, and then eat my feelings. Some very, very cleaver Girl Scouts had a cookie table parked outside the exit of my polling location. We are stocked up on Thin Mints and Do-Si-Dos.
I have to go to work! But an easy day! Taking a sweet lady from India to Freddie’s and her dental appointment. I’m going to knit and not watch the news. Oh and listen to hazards of love , of course. And Make some chocolate chip cookies. May the best Lady win.
This is such a good list that I emailed it to my office co-workers, including my boss. We're all trying to stay off socials and tv today. Friends suggested heading to Disneyland after work for a few hours to distract ourselves. Another friend has been texting me new music he thinks I would like. Office friends brought their dogs into the office today. I'm sad (but proud!) that my oldest is in Canada at an MUN conference so she won't be with me to celebrate/lament. She stayed up with me late at night in 2016 and was great company/comfort after that outcome.
I washed my car this morning, am heading off to vote, then take my kid for pizza. This afternoon, I have to work on a play I was commissioned to write. Tonight, taking the fam for ice cream.
Taking my 18 year old to vote.
Listen to some Decemberists, maybe do some worldbuilding for our D&D campaign.
I’m going to be building a LEGO Millenium Falcon all evening and partaking in an edible or two. Cheers, and see you on the other side!

Oh, Colin, please rescue us, momentarily, from such a dark time by scheduling a date for the previously postponed live stream song session!!
Just your subject line made me smile and relax a little. Thank you.

I somehow ended up with the next 6 days off. I have no reason to go out into society for 6 days. I plan to do the last item at least 42 times.
