As you pointed out during the VIP pre-show set, I may have been one of the few attendees who call Redmond home. I grew up just a hop skip and a jump down the road from Marymoor and this was my second time seeing you perform here. I was so thrilled to be apart of the extra special performance, thank you!
it was my 9 year old daughters first concert and you walked over to reach out to her during the show AND she got the guitar pick you tossed to the crowd!
i don’t think i can even express what a core memory this is for her. it also feels similar to my core memory when i first saw y’all as an opening band in a tiny seattle venue in 2003!
the decemberists are really special to us and it was a really special night, just wanted to thank you. ❤️
Colin, as a Marriah who, growing up NEVER heard her name outside of reference to Mariah Carey (whom I am NOT named after - please note the two Rs :) ), the inkling that y'all have a song in the works called Black Marriah is amazing (just gonna go ahead and throw in the extra R for ya... ha!). And now I must update my song request for the Nashville show to ask that you please play Black Marriah. I'll be in the balcony if you want to give me a shout out before you play!
Okay, I checked. I saw you guys 9 times from 2003 to 2007, from the Sky Church to the Hollywood Bowl. And then tonight, finally, was my 10th. I didn’t realize how much life had happened to me. (Also tonight I brought the fourth different woman to see you. Life.)
My favorite part was the intro to Severed. I was aurally squinting to figure out what was coming. The Perfect Crime #2, I was sure at one point.
My least favorite was the ending. Well, that it ended. How about next time you start at noon and play til 10?
The show tonight was excellent! So so wonderful (and emotional!) to see y’all again. And I LOVED Black Mariah — can’t wait to hear that and William Fitzwilliam again when they’re recorded. I hope the rest of the tour goes well!

Very curious why Athena is with you on your shows! I'd almost more expect one of the muses instead, although Athena is a pretty dope goddess.
