Now I know where to come for both my book recommendations AND my granola recipes. That pretty much checks all my social-media boxes. Deleting all my other social apps now.
Did Carson make her omelet with the garlic infused cheese and potato chips? We have enjoyed watching The Bear. Our daughter was a chef, so we have heard her stories about the high stress situations in the kitchen.
Best lockdown purchase I ever made was getting a projector and a 10x8 ft retractable screen in the first few weeks to put on an outside wall of our house round the back. Our local friends C & M came by every weekend at the height of our isolation and sat ten feet away from us as we enjoyed such a range of movies (amongst our favorites, a sequence of Charlie Chaplin's we ran over a few weekends!).
There's something wonderful about sitting under the stars watching a movie - of course, in the winter, we had to wrap ourselves in blankets with Hot Toddies in hand... but then we watched Doctor Zhivago, which seemed appropriate (you might say it was in 'Sensurround').
Also watch and love The Bear, and was thrilled to hear my superfavorite Decemberists song make an appearance--honestly, it felt like they were speaking right to me.
I suggest substituting avocado oil for the canola oil in your granola. It has a very similar consistency/weight and no flavor - plus it's healthier! I use it in my granola which happens to be pretty perfect...
This is the first time I’ve thought about making omelets, watching a Friedkin film, and listening to Napalm Death in consecutive moments. 😆Not that I’m complaining.
Sorcerer!!! Thanks for reminding me to do a long over due rewatch of this great film. Roy Scheider, RIP, was in many of the formative films from my childhood.....Marathon Man, Jaws, All That Jazz, Klute and so on.
Same with the director, William Friedkin.... the Exorcist and the French Connection (also with Scheider).
Outdoor movies are so much fun. My husband downloads classic movie trailers and also added animated concessions commercials to enhance the experience. We used to do it off the side of our garage but now we have a portable screen so we can lie in the pool and watch. The popcorn gets soggy though.
We started watching The Bear specifically because I heard The Decemberists were on the season 2 soundtrack! We ended up loving the show as an added bonus, and I was so pumped to hear you on it!
Outdoor movies are a favorite summer pastime at our house. We enjoy sitting in an inflatable pool and watching “watery” movies.
Is there something vaguely morbid about watching Titanic in a warm, glorified kiddy pool? Most certainly. Did I enjoy myself? 100%. These are the times we live in.
"Oh, by the way, we're making a record."
You trying to pull a fast one on us? lol
Commence being stoked!
Way to bury the lede!
Well, to be fair, just because it's the lede to us doesn't make it so for Colin 😁
Not gonna lie, I was pretty excited for a new granola recipe.
Right?! This made my Monday.
I haven't seen any mention of the upcoming Seattle show, can we expect any new tunes to be tried out there? (I hope I hope I hope!)

I did not. I’m trying to perfect a classic fines herbes omelet with chives, parsley, and tarragon. But that potato chip omelet looked great.

Thanks so much for the granola recipe - and for being American and using metric measurements! Is the tide turning?.....
Interesting choice of Napalm Death for music to "enjoy"! Were they the first to use this vocal style which is so common today?
What food scale do you recommend?

try 2/3 AP flour to 1/3 bread flour for a nice pizza dough

Looking forward to new sounds and words!✌️
*Excellent* choice of film. I agree that it's highly underrated.
