My son and I started the book on Wednesday. His review so far: “Do we find out what a Betamax is?”

I will continue to let him think the Betamax is a rare, magical artifact with unknown power.

Love your posts and your music, Mr. Meloy. One grammatical/usage correction in this latest:

When I was twelve, my mom took my sister and I on a roadtrip down the Oregon coast.

That sentence should be corrected to: When I was twelve, my mom took my sister and ME on a roadtrip...

If you break it down, "my mom took my sister and my mom took me." she would not take I. (this mis-use of object/pronouns is a pet peeve.)

I am about mid-way through (so good!), and these photos are a perfect accompaniment. Fantastic imagery in the written word, these conjure up exactly what was in my mind’s eye. Happy belated birthday to you both!
