Thanks for the Twitter shoutout to the trans grooms who included Decemberists music in their ceremony last weekend. One of the grooms was my son. I was crying as they came down the aisle to A Beginning Song. Beautiful ceremony set to beautiful music.
Lovely space! I see the OEDs on the shelf -- nice. Random word nut question: do you have "Origins" by Eric Partridge? Every time we wonder "where did x come from?" or "are y and z from the same root?" this book enlightens. (He's author of the "Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English", which might also have crossed your radar)
What Eric said, Pleased To Meet Me is great, but the production may sound a bit dated to the uninitiated ear. The mid-early records might have less of an eighties sheen to them -- Let It Be and Hootenanny. Those are my favorites...
Well that was enjoyable! Thank you! I'd love to see the vinyl records one by one, even if they are regular versions. It will just be very cool to see you going through them.
Thanks for sharing the space! Maybe it’s lingo I’m not familiar with, but the “first thought” and “best thought” on the speakers piqued my interest, what’s that mean?
Good eye! I think it’s attributed to Allen Ginsburg. It’s not *always* true, but it’s a good reminder. A call to pause and review *all* the thoughts and maybe the first thought was the best one after all.

How nerdy is that I got some great decorating tips from you?

"And this is my Replacements shrine"
I SCREAMED
The 400 Bar!
That's the one!
I use to bartend there. I miss it.
I'm hoping that Offa Rex note on the music stand is an indicator of more songs in the future. Can't get enough of it.
Thanks! I suppose I'm now going to check out the music of The Replacements.
Which album should I try first...?

Yes! Me too, I knew Alex Chilton from obsessively listening to my MTV 120 minutes cassettes.🤣 Time to expand.
There is a lot of music history to unpack right there in your one sentence.
Pleased to Meet Me was my starting point. Then backwards, then forwards. YMMV.
Was anyone else reminded of Ricky Gervais from the Office when Colin said "Everly Brothers" after finishing Bye Bye Love?? 😊
No, but I saw the ghost of Roy Scheider!
I ❤️ Roy Scheider. And Ricky Gervais. So we're all good here.
Very quality tour. Loved every goofy minute

Love this! What an amazing space, thank you for sharing.
That's an interesting-looking hollow-body bass. I was sorry it got skipped. I don't recognize it. Is it a Kay?
TARKIO MASTERS?!?!? That is just flat-out cool....
What I’d do to dig thru that cabinet of guitars 😮
Do you write fiction in the Machine Shop as well, or do you have another space for that?
I do! Though that's a bit more mobile; I'll sometimes write in the house for a change of scenery.

Thanks again!
