Wow - now I can’t wait to hear what happened with “other Milo’s” parents.

We got to see you in Denver at the Mission. The whole family and a couple of cousins.

I requested June Hymn- Don/Donald of the The Koenig Industrial Complex ;-) -a favorite of one of the cousins we brought. and he was so happy to hear it.

You all made it such a special show. The flashlights lighting up at the end was amazing.

Special call out to Marcel @ The Mission. They were awesome letting my daughter have her chair right up at the barricade, so she could stand up and dance, and sit when she needed.

Thank you all, and we can't wait to see you again!

always nice to see you guys in the crowd! I feel like I've watched all those kids grow up from the front of the stage -- or the back of a bookstore

The Mission was a fabulous venue! The staff by the stage gave out free water at the end of the show. Definitely high on the list of BDRCs.

Missoula was my son’s second Decemberists show (he says third because he made it through one song at Traveler’s Rest 2018). After the show he talked a tech into giving him the set list print out. It was helpful for the ride home so he could tell his stepsister which songs were not about death.

Love hearing about all the young Decemberists fans!

Many years ago I spent some time at my sister-in-law's in Missoula. One of the things I did during the day while she was off working at the golf bag factory was sample her excellent CD collection. There was this one band I particularly liked but had never heard of. When she came home I asked about them. They were a local band called Tarkio. We went to Rockin' Rudy's so I could get my own copies of the LP and EP. Unfortunately they were no longer in stock. Turns out the lead guy had left town.

I know that they've already reached out, the family you're speaking of. They are wonderful people and that moment was beautiful and awful and wonder, and I feel so honored to have been there to witness it.

Had a great time at the Denver show (my sixth)! Husband and I traveled from Brooklyn since I was out of town when you were there. It was between that and Missoula, but the cheaper flight won out. Had a feeling the amphitheater was a better fit for Joan as the encore, which I’m sad I didn’t get to see live, but glad I could be part of that beautiful sea of light.

It was a very good show (our 5th). I'm just disappointed Colin gave it the bum's rush in the diary. I'll cut him some slack since he's clearly playing catch-up this time. I also would have loved to see JitG, but we can't have it all. I also didn't get my hoped-for Bagman's Gambit, but I'll admit there were some great choices nonetheless.

Denver was the first Decemberists show I'd been to since the 2015/2016 NYE show in San Francisco. Lake Song was such a beautiful and unexpected addition - I could see that I wasn't the only person in the audience crying. It was such a magical night that I've now booked a trip to see the Edgefield show!

Sorry the digs were so substandard at the SF venue, but you couldn't tell by the performance you gave. That rendition of Sons and Daughters was the most memorable moment of the night. Even the person spending the entire concert filming with her phone seemed to get into the moment and be there.

Hey Colin! My good friend, April, and I became friends over our mutual love for The Decemberists. We got to see y’all front row in Austin, this tour. My gracious wife made the trip with me from Mississippi but didn’t attend because she was about 26 weeks pregnant at that point, and we were unsure how the loud music might affect the twins in her belly.

Sarah delivered the twins last Friday (two boys!), and one of them ended up in the NICU due to underdeveloped lungs. I am writing all of this to say A Beginning Song, already one of my favorites, has taken on new and deeper meaning, full of hope.

Thank you for your music. It has and continues to touch and speak into my life in new and unexpected ways. I’m so glad iTunes suggested the Crane Wife to me all those years ago, and that I took a chance on the album because of the folklore upon which it’s based (I remember seeing the story on Nickelodeon as a child and being struck by it), as well as the Yes-like vibes I heard when I listened to a sample of The Island. Can’t wait to catch you again!

That’s so fun that Milo got to meet you and I’m glad the flight worked out! When you mentioned he was with you at the Sandy VIP (shebangers in our heart) I almost asked about parenting as a musician, so that’s fun to know about the tour nanny. I totally understand the push and pull of not wanting to be away from the kids…but also how it can be complicating to have them around. The need for babysitting is really what’s stopping me from driving north to catch another show in an attempt to nurse my post-show blues!

You asked us at the Utah show if it was normal to be that hot and got mixed answers. The answer is it is normal, but not the norm. We get a couple weeks a year like that at random times in the summer…you were just unlucky enough to greet us during one. However, we appreciated the trolling as we walked into the sun-baked VIP, so I’ll take it :)

Thank you and the band so much for coming, it was an absolute pleasure!!!

my full circle moment here is that d&d and specifically critical role is what lead me to demberists fandom. i was a casual listener in the 2010s, i knew the hits but not the deep cuts, and somehow missed hazards entirely until i found it on liam o’brien’s vax playlist from season 1 of critical role. hazards is the album that really got me into this band. super grateful i was able to come to tour in LA!
